One of God’s indictments against Israel was that they had a lot of religious activity without corresponding care for those around them. They had feasts and fasting, but they were not moved with compassion for those who suffered. This stands as a warning toward us as well. Do we sidestep caring for our neighbor because we are too consumed by church meetings? Don’t be lulled into sleep by spiritual apathy. Be the heart and hands of justice for your neighborhood.
